McCann Healthcare’s new head of medical communications

McCann Healthcare Worldwide has established a new global medical communications network and has appointed Charlie Buckwell as its worldwide head of medical communications. All of the group’s medical communications units around the world, including Complete Medical Group and Caudex Medical, will report to him.

“This important move builds upon our global leadership in medical communications, ensuring we are able to continue to satisfy clients’ increasing needs in local, regional and global medical communication programs,” says Richard Nordstrom, CEO, McCann Healthcare Worldwide. “With Charlie leading the way, we are committed to building the new gold standard in a world-leading medical communications offer, to complement our existing global strength in brand communications.”

According to McCann Healthcare Worldwide, “This new global medical communications network will complete the total McCann Healthcare Worldwide offering, spanning across brand communications and evidence activation, and providing significantly enhanced and comprehensive expertise and capabilities in all medical communications globally. Mr. Buckwell brings to this role his vast medical communications management experience, both from the industry and the agency side. For the last five years he has led the ongoing growth and development of Complete Medical Group.”

Mr. Buckwell is joined by Phill Sutcliffe, formerly chief financial officer, Complete Medical Group and Caudex Medical, who is now appointed chief financial officer, Global Medical Communications and EMEA Healthcare. Mr. Sutcliffe will work on McCann Healthcare Worldwide medical communications offerings to make them more efficient and effective, and will address clients’ future financial challenges, including novel organizational structure and pricing innovation.
