Palio and Zemoga launch blog, blend digital and pharma

August 26, 2009 – 8:42 am by Gina Monari

A partnership between Palio and the interactive agency Zemoga is tackling the changing nature of digital media in the healthcare arena. The partners have also launched a blog in August called Pixels and Pills that provides insight into the convergence of the digital and pharmaceutical arenas.

“It’s our responsibility to develop and build best-in-class practices to proactively meet our clients’ needs in the digital world, to help fuel future growth for their brands in the new economy,” says Guy Mastrion, chief global creative officer at Palio.

The blog is a platform for dialogue, insight, and idea-sharing that is intended to start a conversation and encourage dialogue. The Pixels and Pills blog is “a collaborative effort between passionate professionals in the pharmaceutical/healthcare marketing and communications space,” Palio and Zemoga executives say.

“We want to ruffle some feathers, provide relevant insight, and inspire others to learn,” says DJ Edgerton, president of Zemoga.

Contributors at the blog thus far, which also has a Twitter identity, include Mr. Edgerton; Sven Larsen, a marketing and media specialist with more than 20 years of experience creating intellectual property for print, broadcast, and digital content provide; Dan Licht, Zemoga’s chief creative officer; Mr. Mastrion; and Russ Ward, director of interactive research for Zemoga.

Palio and Zemoga say they are creating a powerful suite of services that goes beyond what could be achieved separately. The new blog provides readers in the healthcare space with information and opinions on the subjects that affect their lives, such as pharma tech education, reality in advertising, pharma grade book, and Congress and healthcare reform.

“We’ve been successfully collaborating for years on various projects, and given the condition of the market, with clients now searching harder than ever for new and fresh solutions to the challenges facing their brands, it seems the perfect moment to make a formal declaration of our combined talents,” says Mike Myers, president of Palio. “Our collaboration is enabling us to leapfrog our competitors, and it places our joint offering at the forefront of digital media solutions in the healthcare market.”
